Jesse Myerson is a fairly young man and, it seems, a Committed Communist.
He recently published a article over at Salon entitled: Why you’re wrong about communism: 7 huge misconceptions about it (and capitalism).
It is the work of a clearly delusional person who has very little understanding of Human Nature and knowledge of History.

If you make the effort, you’ll be rewarded for, along with his demolishing of Myerson’s arguments, Stacy provides a handy sketch of Marxist-Leninist-Maoist logic that will prove useful in understanding what the Elites are thinking and are up to in The United States today.
-In the Comments section of Stacy’s third post, Dicentra offers one of the best penetrating insights into the Leftist Mind that I have ever read. This is worth quoting in full [thanks Di]:

“Egoism” is a misnomer: such men are full-on psychopaths with Messiah complexes. They are not motivated by ideology but by dark, insatiable desires. Nothing else is heady enough, and no one can persuade them that they should leave off such an evil pursuit.

Marx’s screed provides an ex post facto justification of such a pursuit. People like Marx begin with “I Must Be In Charge” and then devise the intellectual framework to manipulate others into supporting their quest for Messiahship.
Psychopaths (and sociopaths and narcissists) never use language to say what’s on their minds; for them, language is a weapon against their enemies and a tool to acquire what they want. It’s important that we approach their discourse from that angle rather than attributing to them the beliefs and mindsets that they ostensibly profess.
(Rather than saying, “Marx didn’t understand that the free market is the best way to lift the poor from their lowly state,” say that “Marx rejected the free market because it is a self-organizing system that he and his ilk could never hope to control; only a centrally controlled system could satisfy their lusts.”)
Marxism never quite goes away because it is some truly ingenious sophistry: it whispers sweet nothings into the ears of the masses (you’re going to be rich) while flattering psychopaths and their enablers among the intelligentsia with “only you can Set Things Right in this miserable, miserable world.”
The replacement of moral considerations with “practical” ones plays right in to the psychopath’s deadened soul: the power-rush that they get from wielding the God-like power of Death makes it all worthwhile, even if it is transitory.
Failure to spot charming psychopaths and to deny them influence is what always destroys a society. Like opportunistic flesh-eating bacteria, they are harmless while outside the body but deadly when the tiniest scratch lets them inside.
Psychopathy, Nihilism, Gnosticism — what a deadly cocktail for an individual Soul and for all those around that person.
-If you end up reading Comrade Myerson’s article, it wouldn’t surprise me if you ended-up shaking your head in sorrow that such ignorance may be influencing other young people. But then you might be tempted to say: ‘Well, we’ve always survived despite such idiocy’, but we haven’t — and if we think so then it is we who are in Denial.
Look at the state of America today: we are no longer a constitutional republic and are governed by men and women who have made the politicians and bureaucrats of the Late Roman Republic look like pikers; our Culture worships the profane and the perverse; Normalcy is laughed at and consigned to the Fringes and treated with contempt; and The Idiots, of which Myerson is merely the latest iteration, are winning.
His kind of thinking has successfully invaded and conquered all of our institutions and, most especially, corrupted our way of thinking.
Yes, the Culture is not as Radical as Myerson’s vision would have it, but it is in service of it coming to pass by it’s granting of Legitimacy to it.

Like a few during that dark decade, there are those of us who refuse to be ignornant, but we are labeled as extremeists, terrorists, people not fit to be allowed in polite company. We have, like Winston Churchill, been banished to The Wilderness — and branded OUTLAWS.

“Ignorance” isn’t Bob’s word in this case but that of an imaginary reader; nevertheless, I have heard this locution all too often and would strongly recommend that we stop giving the rhetorical benefit of the doubt to leftists ever again.
Stop attributing their ideas to ignorance or naivete or stupidity or whatever else. What they’re peddling is poison, and there’s no good reason for people living after the fall of Communism not to recognize that.
Stop saying “Don’t they get it? Communism doesn’t work!” It actually does work, if by “work” you mean “centralizing power into the hands of a few psychopaths who use that power to destroy their enemies and enrich themselves.”
As it turns out, that’s exactly what they mean by “work.” Call that out.
A few useful idiots may say that it’s all about fairness and equality: such fools are actually eager for a All-Powerful Overlord to take the reins and “set things right.” What pains is that these morons will accept any conditions as “right,” no matter how miserable and oppressive, because for them, “right” is “having a strongman in charge who will swiftly punish people I hate.” They’re not interested in their own liberty, so why would they give a rip about the liberty of a whole nation?
“Everything in the state, nothing outside the state,” sounds GOOD to them. It sounds cozy, controlled, perfect. It’s an ersatz version of Christ’s Millennial Reign that’s being sold to them, and they’re buying it whatever the price. They’re the ones who arrive at the Gulag and wonder why such a horrible thing could exist without Uncle Joe knowing about it.
We can’t help these people.
