Chris McDaniel, candidate for the U.S. Senate from Mississippi, lost the Republican runoff to incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran last month, and now he is being led down a primrose path to political oblivion. McDaniel’s passionate supporters think that a moment of crisis for the country is a good time to treat control of the Senate as if it’s a prom queen election.
Hoping for yet a third primary vote, McDaniel’s crew is going to prevent him from having any political career, ever again.
Observe that no one is asking Al Gore to run again, except maybe his cardiologist. Even in cases of actual vote fraud, history shows that the contesting politicians get branded as sore losers and destroy their political careers. Better to be magnanimous and live to fight another day.
Actually, Ann, if the GOP establishment thought the country was in crisis they would be cutting off funding to the EPA, blocking Obama at every turn, and making things generally miserable for the Left. They aren’t. Instead, they are at war with their base, and have repeatedly, in the House, used the votes of Democrats to get things passed that the base doesn’t support.
In actuality — and of course you know this — the only people doing anything to try to protect our dwindling liberties and moribund Constitution are the very people you sneer are treating their sovereignty and the integrity of representative government as if it’s a “prom queen election.” Sorry, but that already took place, and we got Lindsey Graham again. Naturally.
So let me put this bluntly: Fuck the “party”. If it doesn’t represent you, why would you show it any loyalty? To keep the Democrats out of power? Hell, the “party” establishment is literally working with the Democrats to make sure the entire demographics of the country move forever toward a permanent welfare state, so that the GOP can slide leftward and pit themselves as better, more efficient technocrats than the New Left running the Democrat party.
In both scenarios you’re left with statist cronies and a permanent ruling elite whose sole purpose is to change you into subjects and then rape you of your money, property, and liberty. Some of us aren’t okay with that.
So cut the bullshit. We’re on to you. Time to leave the stage, and take Romney, Rove, Christie, Jeb, and the rest of the entrenched club members with you.
It’ll be the first positive thing you’ve done for your target audience in quite some time.
It’s finally become obvious to me that Coulter is nothing but a huckster, a grifter, who has fed off conservative and Classical Liberal hopes and fears for nearly two decades.
I’m being kind above, because that just puts her in the Criminal Class.
If she’s not a huckster and, therefore, she really believes what she says, then she is deluded harridan Quisling — a now formally Useful Idiot.
